Botanical Wax Melts, 6-Pack
$12.00
Choose wax melts for fragrance from a warmer; choose a candle when the glow of a lit wick is part of the moment. Both come in Quillmoss’s Fig & Cedar, Wild Fern and Smoked Pear scent families.
A candle brings its own wick and vessel. A wax melt is a separate piece of scented wax that needs a compatible warmer. That equipment choice changes the experience more than the shape of the wax: an electric warmer supplies heat without a flame, while a tealight warmer still uses a small burning candle.
| Your choice | Wax melts | Candles |
|---|---|---|
| The moment | Fragrance from warmed wax | Fragrance and a visible flame |
| Equipment | A purpose-made electric or tealight warmer | The candle, a lighter or matches, and wick care |
| Changing scents | Cool and replace the wax in the dish | Extinguish one candle and choose another |
| What remains | Wax stays in the dish as scent fades | Wax is gradually used as the wick burns |
| Quillmoss options | Six coconut-soy melts, two of each scent | Coconut-soy wax with cotton wicks |
If you like a small pool of light while you read or settle in for the evening, a candle gives you that visible focal point. Choose a place where you can stay nearby, with a stable, heat-resistant surface and clear space around the flame.
If fragrance is your main reason for buying, melts let you use a warmer you already enjoy. An electric model is the relevant choice when you want to avoid an open flame. A tealight model is a different decision because it still needs a lit candle beneath its dish.
Scent strength is a separate choice from candlelight. A warmer’s heat, the amount of wax, airflow and the room’s layout affect how fragrance travels. The words “melt” and “candle” alone do not tell you which will smell stronger. In a small reading corner, a scent can feel quite different from the same notes in an open living area. Choose the notes you enjoy, then use the product in the room and setup you have planned.
The Fig & Cedar Soy Candle pairs ripe fig and cedarwood with a soft musk base. It suits someone drawn to that fruit-and-wood combination who also wants candlelight. Prefer a greener direction? Wild Fern brings fern, oakmoss and a little bergamot. Smoked Pear brings pear, clove and a curl of smoke. The scent library sets out the three candle choices.

Already own a warmer? The Botanical Wax Melts, 6-Pack gives you all three Quillmoss scents, with two coconut-soy melts of each. Use the amount your warmer’s dish is designed to hold. Six pieces in the box does not mean six pieces go into one warming session.
Starting from scratch takes a different budget. Add the warmer to the cost of the melts, and think about where its cord or tealight will sit. A candle needs lighting supplies and regular wick care instead. Compare the product prices above alongside the equipment you actually need, rather than treating the wax price alone as the whole starting cost.
For candle sizes, Fig & Cedar and Wild Fern come in 4 oz, 8 oz and 16 oz options. Their listed burn times are about 25, 50 and 90 hours respectively. The Smoked Pear Soy Candle is an 8 oz amber jar with about 50 hours of burn time. These are burn-time estimates, not the length of a single session.
For repeat purchases, think about what you replace. With melts, you keep the compatible warmer and buy more wax, then allow time for removing the spent wax between fragrances. With a wick candle, you buy another finished candle when the current one reaches the end of its safe use. A lower wax-pack price is useful only when the rest of that routine suits you.
Melt fragrance life depends on the blend, warmer temperature, session length and room. Compare the format and your habits first: a quoted candle burn time and a pack count of melts measure different things. Neither tells you, by itself, which choice gives better value for your home.
Melts suit a routine where you enjoy moving among scents. End the session, let the wax and dish cool completely, then remove the old wax using your warmer’s recommended method. Keep each fragrance separate while you learn what you like. Our wax-melt beginner’s guide covers warming and changing the wax step by step.
With a candle, enjoy the scent already blended into that vessel. Let it cool before moving it, and trim the wick before the next burn. Quillmoss’s Brass Wick Trimmer is made to keep wicks at 1/4 inch. The candle-care guide explains the other habits that belong alongside trimming.

Both formats need your attention while in use. Keep hot wax and heat sources away from children, pets and anything that could catch fire. The U.S. Fire Administration’s candle guidance says to extinguish candles when leaving the room or going to bed. Switch off an electric warmer before leaving it, too. An appliance without a flame can still have a hot dish.
For a gift, start with the recipient’s habits. Someone who already warms wax can enjoy the three-scent melt pack in their own setup. For someone who loves candlelight, choose their preferred notes and a candle size that fits the gift you have in mind.
The Evening Ritual Gift Set brings an 8 oz Wild Fern candle, a six-pack of wax melts and a brass wick trimmer together in a recycled kraft box with a handwritten card. It combines both fragrance formats; check that the recipient has a compatible warmer for the melts. Its included items are the candle, melts, trimmer, box and card.

For your own shelf, begin with the format you will reach for most often. Choose the melt pack to explore all three scents with a warmer, or a candle when you want a favorite fragrance and the glow of a wick together.
From the Quillmoss Candle Works team, with coconut-soy wax at the heart of both formats.
Shop the collectionA wax-melt dish is made for loose melts, not for holding a jar candle. Candle lamps and candle-warming plates are different appliances. Use only the wax or vessel type your appliance is designed to take.
Warming one scent at a time makes each fragrance easier to enjoy and recognize. If you experiment with a blend, keep the combined amount within the dish’s stated capacity and never add loose fragrance oil or water.
Room size, airflow and the scent itself affect how noticeable fragrance feels. A smaller candle does not automatically suit an open-plan space. Start with the room where you will actually use it, and keep the candle away from drafts rather than moving it while lit.
